A special collie prayer to my favorite collie.
Casey's Shadow
Lookin' back on the memories of the dance we shared beneath the stars above. For a moment, all the world was right. How could I've known that you'd ever say 'good bye?' And now, I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end the way it all would go. And our lives are better left to chance. I could have missed the pain, but I'd've had to miss the dance.........................

was thinking back today when I took her for her first walk and she jumped up and nudged me as if to say thank you. Just had an adjustment when first settling in like going through the porch screen and barking all night, then finding security in the old shed. Then something happened there where she didn't want to go in any more and I had just gotten the small shed were she felt at home. The day I was out riding in back and she came upon a porcupine and it was the week-end so I called you and we laid on top of her while your friend pulled them out. The day she brought me a baby raccoon with a broken neck and the day she chased a raccoon up a tree. She was so proud! She kept coming back in the yard and going in the pool to cool off and would run back up the path and lay by the tree. I was weeding in the garden and the more I laughed at her the more she loved it. The day I went for a walk and let her loose and she herded the camp horses as I yelled at the top of my lungs so afraid she as going to get hurt. Every day she would wait for me on the porch to get her walk. The day someone showed up and was trying to sell me some meat. I was out by the horse and she came running up and the guy ran to the truck never to be seen again. The time a stranger came in the yard and we went to check it out and a pit bull jumped out of the car and chased Jesi with me after it. I stepped on the leash and stopped it. She was never totally my dog as a part of her heart was always with you. So dedicated!! Thanks for sharing her with me. love Sally
